Georgia football: 3 reasons to be excited for spring practice
Georgia football finally returns for 2022 action
There is nothing quite like returning to the practice fields for the first time in the spring. That crispness is in the air, and a new season is on the horizon.
While it’s been a pleasant offseason, the coaching carousel has kept Dawg Nation buzzing. The uneventful basketball season has also put the fanbase on edge, ready for football to start again.
The wait is over on Tuesday, and things can get back to discussing what is going on instead of following rumors and other things. Georgia has a staff full of talented coaches ready to lead this 2022 squad to another successful season.
With the additions of Bryan McClendon and Stacy Searels on the offensive side of the ball, the Dawgs will see some changes at both the receiver and offensive line position, but both will be great for this program. These two coaches have experience and know what it takes to be elite.
Defensively, adding Chidera Uzo-Diribe and Fran Brown to the outside linebacker and defensive back positions will keep those two positions some of Georgia’s strongest. Uzo-Diribe is already off to a hot start, and it’s going to be fun to watch him interact with his new program this spring.
Take a deep breath Dawg Nation, football is back, and while there have been some changes, this program is still on a path that could lead to greatness. While there is still a whole summer ahead of us, getting these few weeks of spring ball and a spring scrimmage game usually gives us enough to make it through to Fall Camp.
