Spring ball gives us an idea of the 2022 Georgia football squad

The final reason, at least on this list, of reasons to be excited about spring ball is that the fans finally will get an idea about the identity of the 2022 squad.

Plus, it will let the fans get a taste of what we can all expect. Sure, a lot can happen between now and fall camp, but at the same time, we will see who is performing well and who could transfer out or take a redshirt.

Georgia has to make some more room to get at the 85-max scholarship players, so this spring will be necessary to watch because if a guy isn’t making the cut, we could see him leave.

However, regardless Georgia has a lot of talent heading into this spring, so it’ll be interesting to see who emerges and who falls back some. A couple of names we think will have a big spring are Arik Gilbert, AD Mitchell, and someone like Oscar Delp.

Those are just the offensive players, Mykel Williams and Christen Miller are two underclassmen who could have big springs, and then there is Kelee Ringo and Tykee Smith on the backend that I’m watching.

This spring is one of the most important since head coach Kirby Smart took over because it’s the one after winning his first title. However, it’s still exciting to think about how this group will shape up and how many similar traits it has to the 2021 squad. Hopefully, the one-team one-voice mindset sticks because it sure did work last year.
