Georgia football quarterback Brock Vandagriff

Last spring, Georgia football fans saw bursts of greatness from quarterback Brock Vandagriff in the annual G-Day game, and then he was quiet behind starter Stetson Bennett and JT Daniels. There were a few names in front of him, but this spring will be different because it’s the one where he shows that he can challenge Bennett.

Vandagriff has all the eyes on him this spring because it’s time for him to take that next step. While Bennett will probably be the starter and Carson Beck is still in the mix, he could beat out Beck to show he is ready to take over when Bennett leaves.

Vandagriff showed off his quick-release video on social media while working with Jon Richt on his quarterback skills.

Since getting to Athens last year, he has grown, and with an entire season under his belt, Vandagriff knows what to expect. Plus, at 6-3 and 203-pounds, he will show how a year under the proper nutrition program benefits him.

He could give Bennett a run for his money and earn some playing time to prove he is the future for Georgia at the quarterback position. Vandagriff needs to compete for the backup role and keep Bennett working hard because the youngster may end up being the better choice in the long run.

Who knows what could happen, so Vandagriff needs to be ready at a moment’s notice, plus it would be great to see him put on another show at G-Day. He has our attention, though, and we all need to watch him this spring.
