Today, Georgia football hosts various NFL scouts, coaches, and general managers as the 15 Dawgs look for one more chance to impress ahead of the NFL Draft.
After taking over Indianapolis for the NFL Combine, most of Georgia’s players increased their draft stock and proved why the Dawgs won it all. Now the guys who didn’t run can prove themselves too.
This Wednesday in March also allows the ones who did work out one more chance to impress, and sometimes it’s easier to do that being in your practice facilities.
Georgia football will see its players work out one more time for NFL teams.
The Dawgs have a chance to see all 15 players who declared for the draft to get selected by various NFL teams. There are a couple of guys who could fall to free agency, but Georgia will set a school record for the most part.
Some mock drafts suggest that as many as 10 could get taken in the first three rounds, which is incredible. These 15 players have fought hard while wearing the Red and Black, so they deserve to go high in the draft, and it appears the draft experts are on the same page.
So many of the guys who do NFL Draft stuff for a living came away from Indianapolis impressed with what Georgia put on the field, so today’s Pro Day is sure to draw a crowd.
The Dawgs’ Pro Day will be aired on the SEC Network starting at 10 a.m. ET for those who can watch it. Much like the NFL Combine, they will have their measurements taken, do a series of drills and some will talk with the media.
Today is about Nakobe Dean reminding scouts that height doesn’t always matter when a player has the talent he does. Must we all remember Roquan Smith and how he was “undersized?” He is close to Smith’s size, but scouts said similar things about Smith as they are about Dean ahead of the draft.
Derion Kendrick will have a chance to prove himself, but in reality, all 15 guys — if John Fitzpatrick can workout — will be able to solidify their spots in this NFL Draft. Some may even impress enough to bump up a few more spots, but it will depend on how today and the other schools’ pro days go.
Georgia will make history at the 2022 NFL Draft, and today’s pro day will help make that prediction a reality.
