Regardless Georgia football should feel confident in Arch Manning

Arch Manning is a hot topic right now, and while his Georgia football visit happened last weekend, the Dawgs should remain confident in landing him. The amount of work the Dawgs’ coaching staff have put in to build this relationship with Manning is enough to land him.

He may be visiting Alabama, Texas and other schools this weekend and in the near future, but Georgia got that much-needed first visit to show him how Athens is.

Manning isn’t like most 5-star quarterbacks of this new-era college football world presents. He is physically talented, but his personality is the furthest from a prima-donna.

The Dawgs are bought-in on landing Manning, and it was evident that building this kind of relationship was crucial. Manning is humble and old school, so it seems like it’s important to recruit him the traditional way.

Georgia football should feel confident landing Arch Manning no matter where he visits.

By now, we all know that Manning is the No.1 overall prospect in the 2023 recruiting class, and whatever decision he makes is really going to affect what other recruits do. Head coach Kirby Smart knows this, so landing Manning could really make this the best class he could ever sign at Georgia.

This past week, SEC Commissioner Greg Sankey announced that David Cutcliffe would be heading to Birmingham to work for the SEC. He took the Special Assistant to the Commissioner for Football Relations role.

So when Texas head coach Steve Sarkisian said he was trying to get Cutcliffe to Austin, now we know that isn’t happening. While Texas has a great shot at landing Manning, Cutcliffe was likely a considerable advantage. Now he isn’t going to be there, so that tells us that Texas didn’t gain much of an advantage.

Alabama has a good shot at it since they are the closest to Birmingham, and maybe Cutcliffe will do some contract work, but all of this is speculation.

Georgia should feel highly confident because offensive coordinator Todd Monken and Buster Faulkner, who works with the quarterbacks, have both built a great relationship with Manning and have his best interest at heart.

With this recruitment taking more of a traditional role, it’s important to sell Manning on the atmosphere of Athens, the kind of education he would get at Georgia, and show him that they can get him into the NFL — following in his family’s footsteps.

After he left Athens, reports suggested that the trip went exceptionally well. Plus, Georgia’s college atmosphere is the best among the schools in question, and no, we’re not biased.

Athens has excellent food, music and is a great place to go to college. The football program is on the rise, and with a quarterback like Manning, he could keep that going.

So while other publications suggest that things are going so well for Manning, Georgia should remain confident because they’ve done the groundwork to get him to Athens, and the fight is far from done. They will continue to fight for him and show him how important he is to this signing class.

Georgia football is already off to a great start in the 2023 recruiting cycle, but landing Manning would be huge. For now, the Dawgs should remain confident because what the University of Georgia has to offer is the best for Manning — at least in our opinion.
