Georgia football is already seeing some of its 2022 signees make noise this spring camp, and one of those guys is linebacker Jalon Walker.

He is one of the 19 early enrollees out of that 2022 recruiting cycle that finished No. 3 in the country.

As a coach’s kid, Walker understands football at another level this early in his career, which is one of the biggest reasons he already impresses at Georgia.

Walker finished strong as a prospect, and with an impressive All-American game, performance was one of the Top-25 athletes in the class on 247Sports.

Georgia football sees true freshman Jalon Walker make noise right away in spring practice.

At 6-2 and 220-pounds, the linebacker is already a great size for his position, and it seems the new outside linebackers coach Chidera Uzo-Diribe already likes his grit and tenacity.

Walker ranked out of high school as the No. 4 linebacker and No.2 player in North Carolina. He committed to the Dawgs on March 28, 2021, a little over a year ago, and it was a match made in heaven.

He has a high football IQ, which is beneficial to Georgia’s defense because that is how you get on the field early. When players know the playbook and can execute it, they will be on the field. Some guys have to sit a while to learn, but being a coach’s son helped him.

Walker is a hard-hitting linebacker who isn’t afraid to make that play if needed. He can sniff out whether it will be a pass or run play, then he adjusts. That instinct is another reason he is already getting some attention this spring.

The linebacker position at Georgia is wide open, so Walker can be someone that takes full advantage of the situation.

We predicted that he would be someone that could see the field before the end of the 2022 season, but after a solid start to the spring, we’re even more excited to see him in the G-Day game.

Walker has the size and instinct, but now it’s up to him to keep proving himself worthy of playing early on as a Georgia linebacker. He will likely be a special teams guy because head coach Kirby Smart likes using guys out there to test them.

Georgia football has some adversity to overcome this spring, but if young guys like Walker continue to step up and find ways onto the field, the Dawgs will benefit in the long run.

Walker is one to keep an eye on this spring because he has the chance to really ruffle some feathers in that position room and make even more noise.
