Georgia football is on the rise and knocking on the doors of greatness

If Arch Manning wants to do big things in college, Alabama and Georgia are the two schools that have the best path for that. Texas is not on the rise, and despite what many people think, that program is still a long way off from contending again.

Georgia showed what good recruiting mixed with head coach Kirby Smart’s culture could do for a program as it resulted in a national championship. He continues to recruit consistently and brings in elite talent, which only helps guys like Manning, who needs playmakers around him.

If Manning chose Georgia, that talent would be there. It would be there at Alabama, too, because it’s Georgia and Alabama at the top of it right now.

However, I’m not saying that Nick Saban will retire tomorrow, but who knows what the future holds for him, and if Manning wants to do great things, picking the head coach that will be around all four years building great teams could be in Athens.

Smart knows Saban and knows what it takes to build championship-caliber teams, and with a quarterback like Manning, that goal becomes easier. He is a generational quarterback that can make plays with his eyes closed.

Georgia is on the rise, and this championship isn’t the end for the Dawgs, but it’s the beginning of something special. Smart could turn the Dawgs into the next great dynasty, but it takes having quarterbacks like Manning to help make that happen.

Manning isn’t close to making a decision, but to suggest that Alabama leads out right after his visit there is silly, in my opinion. There are so many things that Georgia has done to build the relationship and show Manning that Athens is the right choice. I’m sure Saban has done the same thing — he is the goat, but Smart is the future of college football.

Georgia football is building something special and wants Manning to be a part of it. If the quarterback intends to leave his mark, picking the Dawgs would be the best choice. He could walk away with a couple of titles from Georgia or Alabama, but the legacy he would leave in Athens would be far more incredible than in Alabama.
