One of the biggest targets of the 2023 recruiting class for Georgia football is 5-star quarterback Arch Manning.

He most recently went on a trip to Alabama, and now all the reports suggest that the Tide holds the lead over Texas and Georgia. However, they may think that, but there is still a long way to go, and no one in Manning’s camp has set a date for him to commit.

Georgia still holds a strong relationship with Manning, and those things hold weight with him. The Dawgs have worked hard to build that bond, and one visit to T-Town isn’t going to change that. It could affect it some, but the Dawgs will just show him love again to remind him that they are there.

Some experts even predict that Manning with eventually sign with the Tide. However, it’s still way too early for that.

Georgia football is the best option for Arch Manning, and these are three reasons why.

Manning, of course, is the No.1 overall player for the 2023 class and has gained a lot of attention with his name alone. However, he has game, and whoever eventually lands him will have an incredible quarterback on their hands.

He has one more year of high school ball left but has already amassed 6,307 passing yards, 81 touchdowns, 17 interceptions, 742 rushing yards and 19 running scores. Manning completes 66% of his passes, and when he runs, he averages 8.15 yards a touch.

There have been quarterbacks like him before, but Manning is, well, a Manning, and that name holds weight. He still has another season to go, so that those numbers will be even more impressive, but where will he go to school?

Georgia and the remaining finalists have put in a lot of work to sell their programs to Manning, and it doesn’t seem like the race is even close to being done. However, the Dawgs do have some things that make it the perfect fit for Manning.

Here are three reasons why Georgia and Athens are the perfect fit for the next generation of Manning.

Georgia football has the best college experience out there

One of the biggest things that Arch Manning’s camp said that was important was college experience, and Georgia football has the best among his finalist.

Athens has music, football, and incredible food. There isn’t much the Classic City doesn’t offer a star-studded quarterback like Manning.

The campus is gorgeous, and there are so many activities on and off campus that he would never get bored. Then again, football will keep him busy, so it’s not like he would have a ton of time, but Athens culture is hands down the most unique and incredible among all the finalists.

Once he hits the appropriate age, then the bar scene will be another element that would be appealing. Georgia has incredible nightlife and music-rich history, so if Manning likes that, then Athens is the best spot.

Tuscaloosa and Austin are great cities and offer great cultures too, but there is something about Athens that screams college experience. This recruitment seems to be an old school one that isn’t about the money but what will give Manning the best college life, and there is no denying that Athens is the best choice.

Manning would get a similar experience that his family got while they were in school if he came to Athens, and even if Ole Miss becomes a contender, no one can compete with what Georgia and their town have going for them right now.

Not to mention, I bet there is some patron that can get him in for the Masters Tournament if he wants to, and you can’t find that in T-Town, Austin or Oxford.

Georgia football OC Todd Monken is the best play caller for Arch Manning

The Dawgs’ have one of the best offensive coordinators in the country in Todd Monken, and last season’s national championship run proved that. If Arch Manning wants a strong offensive scheme, it doesn’t matter if Georgia doesn’t have the “rich” history with elite quarterbacks.

Georgia just won a national championship with a former walk-on, and while some suggest that could hurt them with Manning, I think it’s the complete opposite. He sees what Monken can do offensively and knows that the playcalling would mold to his strengths if he chose the Dawgs.

Monken does a fabulous job putting offenses together that help bring out the brightest spots, and with Manning, he would have a field day. Sure there are other talented quarterbacks in that room right now, but that doesn’t matter if someone like Manning comes around and wins the job.

Fans can claim that Georgia doesn’t know what they’re doing at the quarterback position, but winning a championship happened with the Mailman, so something is going right in Athens.

Monken also loves Athens and the culture that Georgia football has. Alabama changes coordinators often, and we all know Steve Sarkisian isn’t the most loyal individual or sticks around a while.

If Manning wants a program that builds around him, then all three will do that, but Georgia football is the one that will likely have the same coordinator. Sure Monken could leave, and the coaching turnover is becoming more normal than seeing a coach stick around, but getting Manning on campus could make Monken stick around to win a few with this kid.

Sark is a great offensive mind, and Alabama always has talented coordinators, but the relationship that Monken has built with Manning is crucial. Not to mention the bond Buster Faulkner has grown with the kids is something to note.

Georgia is putting in a lot of effort to let Manning know this offense is something that can really make him shine if he picks the Dawgs.

Georgia football is on the rise and knocking on the doors of greatness

If Arch Manning wants to do big things in college, Alabama and Georgia are the two schools that have the best path for that. Texas is not on the rise, and despite what many people think, that program is still a long way off from contending again.

Georgia showed what good recruiting mixed with head coach Kirby Smart’s culture could do for a program as it resulted in a national championship. He continues to recruit consistently and brings in elite talent, which only helps guys like Manning, who needs playmakers around him.

If Manning chose Georgia, that talent would be there. It would be there at Alabama, too, because it’s Georgia and Alabama at the top of it right now.

However, I’m not saying that Nick Saban will retire tomorrow, but who knows what the future holds for him, and if Manning wants to do great things, picking the head coach that will be around all four years building great teams could be in Athens.

Smart knows Saban and knows what it takes to build championship-caliber teams, and with a quarterback like Manning, that goal becomes easier. He is a generational quarterback that can make plays with his eyes closed.

Georgia is on the rise, and this championship isn’t the end for the Dawgs, but it’s the beginning of something special. Smart could turn the Dawgs into the next great dynasty, but it takes having quarterbacks like Manning to help make that happen.

Manning isn’t close to making a decision, but to suggest that Alabama leads out right after his visit there is silly, in my opinion. There are so many things that Georgia has done to build the relationship and show Manning that Athens is the right choice. I’m sure Saban has done the same thing — he is the goat, but Smart is the future of college football.

Georgia football is building something special and wants Manning to be a part of it. If the quarterback intends to leave his mark, picking the Dawgs would be the best choice. He could walk away with a couple of titles from Georgia or Alabama, but the legacy he would leave in Athens would be far more incredible than in Alabama.
