4-star linebacker, Malik Bryant

Georgia football offered 4-star Orlando linebacker Malik Bryant back in January 2021, as he showed early on that he would be a significant prospect in this 2023 class.

At 6-2 and 235-pounds, he played his junior season at IMG Academy before transferring back to Jones High for his senior year.

According to 247Sports Composite rankings, he is the No. 35 overall player, the No. 2 linebacker and the No. 8 player out of Florida.

Bryant could wind up a 5-star if he continues to impress in camps and has an impressive senior season.

The race seems to be between the Dawgs, Alabama, Florida and Miami. Bryant visited Alabama on April 8 and Florida on April 2 this spring. It wouldn’t be surprising if we didn’t see him in Athens soon, as the last time he was in the Classic City was June 2021.

Georgia will have to fight off some in-state schools for him, but we all know that head coach Kirby Smart and his staff are snipers when recruiting in the Sunshine State.

Bryant has strong pass coverage abilities. He has great bursts, so it can quickly become a problem for opposing quarterbacks when blitzing. Bryant would make a great linebacker for the co-defensive coordinator and inside linebackers coach Glenn Schumann to develop.

There is some room for improvement, but if anyone can coach him to his full potential, it’s Schumann.
