4-star linebacker, Troy Bowles

Georgia football should look at Troy Bowles in the 2023 recruiting class because he is one of the best linebackers in the country.

Son of Tampa Bay head coach Todd Bowles, the 4-star is a star in the making.

Bowles has 271 tackles, 29 tackles for loss, 12 sacks, 10 pass breakups, two forced fumbles, four fumble recoveries and five interceptions through three years of varsity football.

He has a high football IQ and plays brilliant football the same way Georgia likes its inside linebackers to do. As the son of a coach, Bowles understands this game at another level, which only helps develop and learn his college of choice’s system.

According to 247Sports Composite rankings, he is the No. 44 overall player, the No. 3 linebacker and the No. 11 player out of Florida. This recruiting battle is between the Dawgs and Ohio State, but don’t count out Alabama, Clemson or Oklahoma.

He isn’t the largest linebacker at 6-1 and 205 pounds, but someone that Glenn Schumann could work with because he is coachable. Size doesn’t always mean everything, and with Bowles, that is genuinely the case.

Bowles already has a strong tackling ability and appears comfortable in multiple schemes. He is fun to watch on film and should make a college very happy.

Most recently, he visited Auburn on April 9th. Florida saw him on March 15, Oklahoma on March 12 and he went to Alabama’s Junior Day on March 5. Georgia is right in the mix with him, as he came to Athens back on March 19th for an unofficial visit.
