Georgia football will see significant reps from all its players

One of the best things that Georgia football gets to do on G-Day is seeing each player take significant snaps.

The springtime is all about competition and seeing who is willing to step up their game. There won’t be any permanent depth chart decisions on Saturday, but the coaching staff will see who took spring seriously and who didn’t.

Saturday offers a live-hitting situation without consequences, so Georgia can plug and play to see who shines in different circumstances. There isn’t a game on the line, so it gives them a chance to throw kids out there to see what can happen.

Giving reps to everyone provides opportunities to those who maybe practice with the threes to prove he is worthy of being with the twos or even the ones. Players who take advantage of opportunities like the ones given on G-Day usually pay off in the long run.

This spring, the mid-years have gotten two scrimmages in Sanford Stadium, but one with likely 93,000 fans in attendance will be a different story. It isn’t just the freshmen but the players who are stepping into roles filled by veterans last season. So there are big shoes to fill, and G-Day is the start of greatness, or it could show a player needs to put in more work.

Who will enjoy the crowd and excitement that comes with playing between the hedges? Only time will tell, but seeing all these players get chances to do something is great because you never know when this opportunity is what a guy needs to take that next step.
