While it may only be April, the buzz surrounding Georgia football and its annual G-Day game feels like it’s the end of August, and everyone is getting ready for Week 1 against Oregon.

There is nothing quite like Georgia fans being this excited about a spring scrimmage game, but at the same time, they should be because being the defending national champs doesn’t happen that often in Athens.

Georgia lost 14 starters after their 2021 national championship run, but the Dawgs returned 13 starters along with 18 players who have a 70 or high PFF grade with at least 70 snaps. There is still a lot of talent in Athens, so don’t let those 14 departures make you nervous.

Saturday isn’t about looking perfect either, but this game is still something that we all love to watch and discuss.

Georgia football will make these two things happen on Saturday during the G-Day game.

There will be players who will have impressive performances, and there will be players that struggle. Georgia’s defense may not look perfect on Saturday, but that doesn’t mean they will be bad during the regular season. The Dawgs’ offense will be trying a magnitude of things, and there could be a lot of moving around.

One of the most important things we must remember about G-Day is it’s a scrimmage, it isn’t the Dawgs’ polished work, and a lot will happen before the first game of the season.

However, the Red or Black team will battle it out to win bragging rights while the losers have to eat beanie weenies. Here are two bold predictions we think could happen during the G-Day game on Saturday.

If we have to pick a side, we’re going with the Red Team as the offense will likely be the strongest side of the ball for Georgia as spring practice finishes.
