Georgia football: 2 quick bold predictions for the G-Day scrimmage
A Georgia football DL player will step up to help Jalen Carter and it’s Mykell Williams
Jalen Carter will be the best Georgia football defensive lineman the Dawgs ever had. However, that doesn’t mean he couldn’t use a little help. Someone on that defensive line needs to step up on Saturday, and true freshman Mykell Williams will be that guy.
He has had a decent spring practice and reports mentioned him a few times. As one of the most talented players out of the 2023 class, the expectations are high, so G-Day is the perfect opportunity to prove himself.
While G-Day protects the quarterbacks and puts them in black jerseys, Williams will get at least two “sacks.” He will find a way through the Dawgs’ offensive line and pressure one of those guys. Georgia is looking for another duo like Jordan Davis and Devonte Wyatt with them going to the NFL— Williams and Carter are that new duo.
They will be the ones to impress on Saturday and in the 2022 season. Williams has something about him that draws attention, and he is physically gifted. Once he gets those things, he needs to work on — he will be dangerous.
Others like Zion Logue could be another one to step up at G-Day, but our prediction is Williams. Another freshman stud to prove that Tray Scott is an elite coach that can get them ready right away to play in the SEC.
Georgia football will have a lot of guys get playing time on Saturday, and this scrimmage will give Dawg Nation a great taste of what’s to come in the 2022 season. Remember to hold those expectations to a minimum and know this is just the start of greatness.
