The rain may attempt to dampen the Georgia football fans’ spirits on Saturday for G-Day, but they shouldn’t let it. Grab a poncho, trash bag or if you have a fancy rain jacket — put it on and get to Athens on Saturday.

Regardless of the weather, the Dawgs need Georgia fans to show up by the masses. The Georgia Bulldogs are the reigning national champs — Sanford Stadium needs to see 93,000 in those seats.

Fans embraced the cold for the championship celebration in January, so a bit of spring rain shouldn’t hurt anyone.

Prepare for rainy weather, Georgia football fans, and show up to G-Day.

According to weather.com, Athens will see a high of 77-degrees, and there is currently a 94% chance of rain.

The rain will be sporadic and not a torrential downpour all day long, but it’s still safer to take a rain jacket and work through it.

All of the nasty weather seems to be happening in the morning, so hopefully, it’ll just be humid by that 1 p.m. kickoff.

If that happens, tie that rain jacket around your waist and use it to avoid having wet pants from sitting in the bleachers. There is no reason this rain should keep anyone out of Athens on Saturday.

Georgia may have won the national championship, but that doesn’t mean fans get to back out of going to the G-Day game. A massive group of recruits will be there for G-Day, and they need to see a sold-out Sanford Stadium. No one should beat the Dawgs in spring game attendance.

Since head coach Kirby Smart got to Athens, this spring game has been important. From 93K-Day to now, the Dawgs consistently have the most spring game attendance, and now that they are champions — it’s more of a reason to show up on Saturday.

Some fans seem irritated about the $5 ticket prices, but that money is going to charity which is another reason to go because it’s for a good cause.

Smart issued the challenge late this year, but regardless, he issued one, and Dawg Nation must make it happen. Pack the kids up, go tailgate and support the Dawgs on Saturday.

ESPN2 is broadcasting the event for those not able to go, so those who can, give the big television people a show and prove why this fanbase is the best in the country.

Georgia football needs the fans’ support, and Dawg Nation doesn’t disappoint when their football team needs them. So just prepare for the weather and support the Dawgs. This game is the last time until the fall fans will get to see them play ball, so make it happen.
