Georgia football saw a successful G-Day performance from both squads, and the scrimmage showed this Dawgs’ team has a lot of potential.

Both sides of the ball saw strong play from young and veteran players, which should be exciting. While head coach Kirby Smart said there is still a long way to go, he seemed extremely pleased with his players’ efforts and competitive drives.

There was some timid play, but this spring game is important because it’s a dress rehearsal before the real thing. It allows players to get a feel for what college football is truly like, and it helps them work through any jitters that may come.

The Dawgs should be proud of how they played on Saturday because both squads showed a lot of growth.

Georgia football had impressive numbers but these three stats stood out the most.

These stats aren’t suggesting that there isn’t room to grow or that everything was perfect. After looking over the stats, these are the ones that stood out, and it was great to see.

Georgia has plenty to work on this summer and fall camp, but there is still plenty to discuss after G-Day. Saturday showed up just how much Smart and his staff have reloaded on the recruiting trail. Offensively and defensively, the Dawgs have a ton of talent.

The mid-year players also proved that the 2022 recruiting class has something special because so many of them got significant reps during G-Day.

Daylen Everette and Malaki Starks led the Black Team defense with five tackles each. Fellow mid-year JaCorey Thomas recorded four himself, so three true freshmen led the way, which is why they get an honorable mention.

This article is just the start of breaking down G-Day and the key takeaways. Here are three impressive stats from both the Red and Black Teams on Saturday.
