Georgia football has high expectations for the 2022 NFL Draft.
As round one quickly approaches, here are the things to know about the 2022 NFL Draft and what to expect from the Georgia players.
This year’s draft is in Las Vegas, which gets a chance to host the draft after the 2020 one led to the event being virtual.
The NFL Draft starts on April 28 and will wrap up on April 30. The three-day draft will see the first round on Day 1, the second and third rounds on Day 2, and then rounds four through seven on Day 3.
How to watch Georgia football in the 2022 NFL Draft?
Georgia fans can tune in Thursday at 8 p.m. for coverage of the first round. The second day of the draft starts at 7 p.m. on Friday and the final day will see coverage begin at noon.
ABC, ESPN, ESPN Deportes and the NFL Network will all have broadcasts of the event, so fans can choose how to watch it.
How many Georgia football players will be in Vegas?
There will be three Dawgs in attendance at the 2022 NFL Draft — Jordan Davis, Devonte Wyatt and Nakobe Dean. While Travon Walker could get selected in the top three picks, according to 247Sports, Walker said he would be at home with his family.
Even though only three Dawgs will physically be in Vegas, 15 players could get selected.
The Georgia football players that could get drafted are:
- Jordan Davis
- Nakobe Dean
- Travon Walker
- Devonte Wyatt
- Zamir White
- James Cook
- Jamaree Salyer
- Justin Shaffer
- Jake Camarda
- John Fitzpatrick
- Derion Kendrick
- Lewis Cine
- George Pickens
- Quay Walker
- Channing Tindall
While that seems impossible, there is a strong possibility that at least 14 of these players will be one of the 262 total picks through seven rounds.
How will Georgia football players fare in the 2022 NFL Draft?
There have been so many mock drafts that it’s hard to keep up with what the latest one says. However, the consensus suggests that Georgia football will see at least three first-round picks, but it could be upwards of five or six, depending on how the NFL teams choose.
In the latest ESPN mock draft, Jordan Reid has 10 Dawgs in the first 62 picks and 14 going through seven rounds. The only one that isn’t on his list is Fitzpatrick. Adam Anderson could also get drafted but will likely sign a free-agent contract alongside Fitzpatrick.
ESPN’s Mel Kiper Jr. and Todd McShay have nine Dawgs selected in their three-round mock draft.
There is a lot of movement in terms of where these Georgia players could go and not go, but one thing is sure, these experts are expecting a lot of Dawgs to get picked.
Georgia football will likely break their single-draft record for most players selected and could tie LSU for most taken in one draft, so that this weekend will be a massive moment for the program.
