History was made for Georgia football during last night’s first-round 2022 NFL Draft coverage, but the Dawgs’ historic run is far from over as tonight’s second and third rounds bring a lot of promise.

The Bulldogs saw five defensive players picked in the first round, the first time that has ever happened in draft history. Georgia is also now tied with Notre Dame, USC, and Oklahoma for the most No. 1 overall picks after the Jacksonville Jaguars selected Travon Walker with their top choice.

Walker ascended to the No. 1 overall pick conversation after an impressive performance at the NFL combine. Although his stat sheet from 2021 isn’t eye-popping, Walker often proved that he could quickly disrupt plays and get to the quarterback.

These first-round talents helped Georgia produce one of the best defenses in college football history. That defense was critical in their run to win the 2021 College Football Playoff National Championship. Of course, this has been well-documented on this site and other media outlets.

Georgia football will see these three players drafted during the second and third rounds of the 2022 NFL Draft.

Even with the five players taken yesterday, there are still talented players from the 2021 Bulldogs who will hear their names being called today and tomorrow. Yesterday was dominated by defense, but we will likely see one or two offensive players off the board today.

There are 10 total Dawgs left on the board for the 32 NFL teams to pick from, and after an impressive first round, all 10 could get selected in the next two days.

Let’s take a look at some of the Georiga players on both offense and defense that will likely get drafted during tonight’s second or third round.
