Georgia football now officially holds the NFL Draft record for most players selected in a single season. John Fitzpatrick got drafted by the Atlanta Falcons in the sixth round with the 213th overall pick.

There is a new king, and it’s the Dawgs as they did the impossible. The funniest thing is that the Falcons made it happen by drafting the 6-7 tight end.

Many experts thought Fitzpatrick wouldn’t get drafted since he couldn’t do much throughout the draft process due to having ankle surgery, but Atlanta took a risk on him, and they will be pleased with his selection.

Georgia football sees its final player drafted as John Fitzpatrick got selected in the sixth round.

Fitzpatrick doesn’t have the gaudy stats that other tight ends do, but one thing he does bring to the table is the ability to block. He is a great blocker and does a great job setting the edge. Fitzpatrick is a large human who was in a room full of freaky athletes, so it’s great to see an NFL team take a shot.

Clark Kent won’t have to go far and joins Justin Shaffer in Atlanta as the Dirty Birds shock all Georgia fans by picking two Dawgs in one draft and with back-to-back picks.

It’s about time the Falcons see Georgia’s potential and draft these players.

Fitzpatrick had only 83 yards last year, but the other things he did well helped him get to this point. The Falcons can use him in specific packages because even though he didn’t have a lot of production in Athens, it doesn’t mean he can’t in the NFL.

Joining Kyle Pitts and now the Falcons have two solid tight ends the quarterback can throw to and trust.

Georgia football has no players left for teams to draft in the 2022 NFL Draft as all 15 have found new teams. The Dawgs made history in this year’s draft as the year of the Dawg continues.

No other team has done what Georgia did, not Alabama, Florida, LSU, Ohio State, none of them, and that is such an impactful thing to say. Dawgs are on top again as they prove what kind of developmental program Georgia is.
