Georgia football recruiting is in full force as summer presents a fun and unique period in each cycle.

However, there is a 5-star that is tracking in the right direction for the Dawgs.

AJ Harris is a big target for not just Georgia but also Florida. The Dawgs are pushing hard, and while many people think Florida will be the result, no one should count out Georgia.

Summer is here, and the best recruiters in college football finally can put their complete focus on landing another impressive class, and if Harris is one of those guys, then the Dawgs will give it a solid shot.

Georgia football could steal another talented 5-star cornerback from Florida.

Smart and his coaching staff have successfully recruited against the Gators for a lot of top targets in recent recruiting cycles. That success won’t stop in the 2023 class because Georgia is hitting it hard again.

Harris is one of the main Florida targets that Georgia is looking to bring to Athens, and he is impressive.

According to 247Sports Composite rankings, Harris is the No. 18 overall player, the No. 2 cornerback and No. 2 out of Alabama.

At 6-1 and 180-pounds, he has the size that coaches are looking for because the weight can get added with the right nutrition program.

Defensive backs coach Fran Brown has been pushing hard for this one because he is a stud and would make a great addition to the program.

For now, Florida may be the leader, but it doesn’t seem permanent because Georgia is putting the heat on him. The Gators haven’t been nearly as successful as Georgia, plus you throw in the fact that the NFL Draft success, it would make sense for Harris to come to Athens.

Alabama is right in the mix for Harris, and by no means is Florida out of this race, but the Dawgs could steal him.

Next. Georgia football will contend in 2022, end of discussion. dark

Georgia football isn’t afraid to go after top talent and doesn’t need a ton of NIL money to get them to Athens. Harris is a primary target, and the Dawgs will go after him until the ink hits the paper.
