Georgia football offensive coordinator Todd Monken got a much-deserving raise, and it’s finally public knowledge.

According to Marc Weiszer of the Athens Banner-Herald, the offensive genius received a massive 60% raise after the national championship. He will make $2 million annually at Georgia, making him one of the highest-paid assistant coaches in college football.

That raise went into effect back in January after the Dawgs won the title, which helps us understand why LSU didn’t get a second look from him.

This raise is enormous, and it shows how serious Georgia is about keeping the offense at an elite level.

Georgia football offensive coordinator Todd Monken got a much-deserving raise.

After the national championship run, we expected most of the coaches to get some kind of raise, and Monken was set to get a pay increase, but Georgia kept it quiet.

He really has transformed Georgia’s offense in a short time, especially in 2021. The Dawgs averaged 38.6 points last season, and he helped Stetson Bennett hold onto the starting job.

Monken came to Georgia after four years in the NFL, but this upcoming season will be his 30th as a coach. He has so much experience, and Georgia benefits from that veteran status.

This salary proves Georgia wants to evolve the offense and made him a priority. He deserves to be one because Monken has done a great job in his short time in Athens.

It also proves that Georgia wants to keep contending and play for more titles, so keeping the band together is important. This raise and Monken sticking around are huge reasons Georgia and the 2019 LSU squads are two completely different situations.

The Bayou Bengals couldn’t keep their glue together, but Georgia is, and this news should make fans feel good about 2022 and the program’s future.

Monken deserves this raise, and the more he can put his stamp on this program, the more prolific this offense and team will be.
