Georgia football sees one of its veterans return in 2022, and after his strong performance at G-Day, it’s evident that Dominick Blaylock is ready for a special season.

He has fought injuries so long that it’s past due time for him to have a healthy year, and 2022 will be that for him.

Blaylock needs to be one of the Dawgs’ offensive leaders in 2022 because they need a veteran receiver who has a level head that can help these youngsters continue to grow.

Not to mention, with Bryan McClendon, it’s important that he has a veteran to help him teach his way of doing things, and if anyone can do that, it’s Blaylock.

Georgia football will see Dominick Blaylock have a special season in 2022.

Blaylock came to Georgia out of high school as a 4-star receiver from Walton High in Marietta, Ga. He ranked on the 247Sports Composite rankings as the No. 36 overall, No. 5 receiver and the No. 8 player out of Georgia.

He was a big deal, and from the time Blaylock got on campus, fans knew he would be a player that did big things.

As a freshman, Blaylock recorded 18 catches for 310 yards and five scores. He averaged 17.2 yards per catch and everyone thought it would only go up from there. After that season, he missed the entire 2020 one due to injury, then got hurt again in 2021, which limited him to playing in just four games.

Last season, he caught two passes for 11 yards. A lot of people thought he could be someone that transfers out, but that isn’t Blaylock’s style. He is a Dawg for life and knows that his time will come.

Blaylock worked hard to get healthy, and now that he is, the fans saw a glimpse of what they did in 2019 at the 2022 G-Day game.

He caught five passes for 67 yards, averaging 11 yards after the catch. Blaylock didn’t catch a touchdown pass, but he showed how healthy he is. That scoring production will come the more he trusts himself, and it seems he is beginning to trust himself again.

Blaylock is a veteran at this point, so it’s time for him to reap the benefits of that. He is a special receiver and has the talent to be a standout player for the Dawgs. Starting quarterback Stetson Bennett knows he can trust him, which helps his cause even more.

The most important thing for Blaylock will be staying healthy because the rest of it is natural for him. Georgia has the best sports medicine program in college football, so they will have him ready for fall and he will have a better idea of how to stay healthy.
