One miss for Georgia football doesn’t extinguish the recruiting fire
Georgia football will add some wood to the fire after missing out on Arch Manning.
One thing to remember for Georgia football fans and those who enjoy trolling the Dawgs is that one miss on a recruit does not mean much for head coach Kirby Smart and his staff.
Georgia didn’t get the Arch Manning commitment, and while the Dawgs will still keep in touch, it doesn’t mean all the momentum leaves.
Would it have helped to have the No.1 overall pick? Of course, but stars aren’t everything right now. Even though Georgia has consistently had top-5 classes since Smart
The Dawgs have a handful of prospects that could announce their decisions in the next month, so this isn’t hurting the recruiting class that much.
Georgia football keeps adding fuel to the fire on the recruiting trail.
Trusting in the process is vital in winning the recruiting battle. Thankfully Georgia fans have done well with the Manning news. There haven’t been too many fans freaking out that he picked Texas over Georgia, and they shouldn’t.
The Dawgs already have a lot of talent in the quarterback room, so losing out on Manning isn’t detrimental.
Georgia can now focus on landing another talented player at a different position. The Dawgs have far bigger needs at offensive line, defensive line, linebacker and other positions than adding a fifth scholarship quarterback.
Missing out on Manning could end up being a blessing in disguise as whoever takes his spot may end up being a future All-American.
Georgia is also notorious for when one player doesn’t come, and they add better ones to the class. It won’t be long until the Dawgs prove that with this 2023 recruiting group because guys are getting ready to make their commitment to the good guys.
The Dawgs will still have one of the top recruiting classes in 2023 without Manning. That door on Manning’s recruitment isn’t closed either, so a lot could happen between now and December, but remember, Smart doesn’t play everyone else’s game — he plays his own, and it’s worked so far.
