Georgia football tight end Brock Bowers gave Dawg fans some of the best highlights during his first year.

There wasn’t much that freshman tight end Brock Bowers did wrong in year one of being on the Georgia football team. He was a bright light on the offense and proved his worth immediately.

From leading the team in receiving yards and almost breaking a record set by a receiver early in the 2000s, Bowers showed up time and time again to make big plays.

As the offseason slowly creeps to an end, we wanted to look at some of our favorite players’ biggest highlights to get the fans excited about the upcoming season.

Why not start this series with the guy everyone knew by the end of 2021 and remind everyone why Bowers is so special.

Brock Bowers had quite the highlight reel from year one with Georgia football.

Bowers was in the limelight from Week 1 against Clemson to the national championship. If he wasn’t the leading catcher that week, he did something blocking-wise or was an excellent overall teammate.

CBS Sports put together Bowers’ biggest moments and watching this video gave us chills. It reminds us that he was just a freshman, and Georgia gets at least two more seasons with him. This highlight reel is of the CBS games, so it doesn’t show all of his big plays, but it still showcases his skills in some matchups the Dawgs had to win.

While Ladd McConkey gets a lot of love in the Auburn game, Bowers also did. In the Kentucky game, Bowers made the Wildcats’ secondary look silly. He had five catches for 101 yards and two scores. That game was his second 100-yard receiving game as he finished with four on the season.

Against the Gators, Bowers also made that defense look weak. There wasn’t a defense that was able to make him look like a freshman. He made a few mistakes, but if he did, Bowers made up for it.

This young man is the program’s future, and while there is a lot of pressure on him for this upcoming season, Bowers seems to be a guy who can handle it. Granted, he will have some help in that room this year, but it wouldn’t shock us to see him be the brightest player among them.

dark. Next. One miss for Georgia football doesn’t extinguish the recruiting fire

Bowers oozes with confidence, and year two at Georgia should be another one full of moxy and hopefully recording-breaking sophomore season. This highlight tape is mindblowing to watch because he is a freshman and did things first-year players shouldn’t feel confident doing, so the future is bright with him.
