Georgia football: Julian Sayin is an outstanding QB fans should get familiar with

Georgia football has a lot of depth at the quarterback position and currently sits in a great spot. However, maintaining that depth year-to-year is only possible with continued success in recruiting highly rated prospects.

Missing on 2023 quarterback Arch Manning did not hurt the Dawgs too much due to this depth, allowing the focus to shift elsewhere.

2024 quarterback Julian Sayin is a prospect that Georgia fans should familiarize themselves with as he is the top target. The 5-star out of Carlsbad, Cali., is currently uncommitted but was recently forecasted to the Dawgs by 247Sports.

Georgia football fans should get to know Julian Sayin.

According to 247Sports, Sayin is the No.13 overall player in the 2024 class, the No.2 quarterback and the No.1 player in California.

In his first year starting as a sophomore, he completed 72% of his passes and threw for 2,769 yards and 34 touchdowns with only five interceptions.

Entering his junior season, Sayin holds offers from multiple other SEC schools, but Georgia appears to be the frontrunner. With two full seasons of high school ball left, he still has room to grow and develop further, but what he displayed as a sophomore was impressive enough.

Sayin throws with exceptional accuracy at every level of the field, along with impressive touch on his deep ball. His passes arrive on time with good zip and placement.

Perhaps the most impressive trait he possesses is his decision-making, evidenced by his solid completion percentage and lack of turnovers. Numbers like that are impressive enough for more experienced signal callers, let alone sophomores in their first season as the starter.

Sayin is considered a pro-style quarterback, but he still has the legs to extend plays. He showed plenty of comfort outside of the pocket and the ability to keep his eyes downfield in those situations.

While his speed is not his most prominent feature, Sayin moves well enough to be able to make defenses pay if a play breaks down.

His accuracy remains consistent during these off-script situations. He can still make strong, on-target passes while throwing off balance or on the run.

He fits the mold of the modern-day pro-style quarterback in being primarily pass-first while still being able to run if needed.

Sayin would be a welcomed addition to Georgia’s 2024 class. As fluid as rosters are in today’s era of college football, there’s no telling what the quarterback room will look like by the time his signing date rolls around.

The skillset he brings to the table would make him a great fit for the Dawgs. Though he hasn’t committed yet, he did visit campus back in April, and Georgia seems to be in a great spot with the talented signal caller.
