It’s not easy when you’re a talented, speedy, and determined football player having to make one of the toughest decisions of your young life. Such is the case with wide receiver Yazeed Haynes who had 10 offers on the table to choose from in order to take his career to the collegiate level. Luckily for the Georgia Bulldogs, clarity came his way in the form of a commitment to the team.
That’s right ladies and gentlemen, Haynes went from a verbal commitment with the Nittany Lions to officially announcing his commitment to the Bulldogs via Twitter. Not only did Haynes make the best choice ever to commit to the Bulldogs but now, it helps address a need on their offense thanks to everything he brings to the table.
At 6-1 and 170 lbs., Haynes will bring a lot to the Bulldogs’ offense from his sheer speed, ability to make plays after the catch, and being a deep passing threat. It’s everything a coach can ask for out of a young wide receiver with everything to prove and ready to make some serious noise this upcoming season.
Yazeed Haynes officially commits to the Georgia Bulldogs
Best of all, Haynes got to experience first-hand what the big difference is when it comes to the Bulldogs when compared to other programs across the country. Besides being the defending National Champions, the Bulldogs are all about family, relationships, and working together on a path towards greatness for everyone.
In an article written by Steve Wiltfong of 24/7 Sports, here’s what Haynes had to say was the difference-maker as to why he chose the Bulldogs over nine other commitments he considered:
"“Georgia felt like the right place for me because of how it felt like family there,” Haynes told 247Sports. “I have great relationships with the coaches and some of the former players there which helped with that. Those two things right there are some of my favorite things, along with the location and the school itself.”"
You just love to see it. Haynes hit the nail right on the head because it’s true. Considering he was recruited by defensive back coach Fran Brown and wide receivers coach Bryan McClendon, it’s a great sight to see that Haynes got to experience this first hand. He even said when he was speaking to Brown it truly felt as if he was talking to his own father which goes to show he knows it’s all about those little things that mean the most in the grand scheme of things.
It’s been a busy offseason so far for the Bulldogs and even more so for Haynes who is coming off an 11-1 season with North Penn High School. He did his part and then some to achieve such a successful year as it’ll be fun to see that momentum continue on with the Bulldogs. Welcome to the family, Yazeed!
