Georgia Football legend Jordan Davis has become one of the most beloved players in program history. Philadelphia Eagles fans are also starting to see why Dawg fans fell in love with the self-proclaimed “Swedish Fish Connoisseur”.

A video was posted to social media recently showing the 13th overall pick from the 2022 NFL Draft singing Rick James’ 1978 hit “Mary Jane” at what looks to be at Philly’s training camp. The performance is quite impressive.

Of course, this is not Jordan’s first dive into the world of music. Following Georgia’s game against Charleston-Southern in late November of last year, Davis directed the Redcoat Band as they played “Glory Glory to old Georgia” and was even named an honorary band member.

Davis has such an infectious personality that has endeared him to Dawg nation. He became one of the faces of the Georgia program after the 2020 season when he and several others announced their intentions to return to Athens for one more year because of some “unfinished business.” The move paid off, as he became the anchor of one of the greatest defenses in college football history and ultimately helped Georgia win the CFP National Championship.

His 2021 season stats included 32 tackles, 5 TFLs, 2 sacks, and a rushing touchdown. He was also the recipient of the Chuck Bednarik award and the Outland trophy, given to the nation’s best defensive player and interior lineman, respectively.

Though his NFL career is still very young, Davis has already begun to earn the respect of his fellow teammates in Philly. Longtime Eagle and Super Bowl Champion Fletcher Cox, one of the NFL’s best defensive linemen, spoke recently about how he was excited to be able to share information with and be a mentor to Davis.

Jordan has also been reaching out to the six-time Pro Bowler for advice as well. Right now, it appears Jordan Davis will have a long career in the NFL, but if for some reason it doesn’t work out for him, he has a career in music to fall back on.
