Good morning Georgia football fans, and welcome to another daily installment of Donuts with the Dawgs, the morning reading roundup that features some of the best headlines and opinions.

Grab your cup of joe and a donut (or five) and settle in for today’s headlines about the Dawgs.

Georgia saw its first padded practice on Tuesday and the media saw the guys go at each other during the viewing period. Today’s headlines feature some practice thoughts, stadium renovation updates, NFL scouts and defensive line discussions.

The Dawgs are one of the hottest teams in college football after winning the 2021 National Championship, so it’s great to see them get this much attention.

Head coach Kirby Smart sent his co-defensive coordinators Will Muschamp and Glenn Schumann to talk with the media on Tuesday, and boy, did they provide some great quotes. However, stay tuned for more from them from our Dawn of the Dawg staff.

The other publications did throw some great stories out throughout Tuesday, and here are our favorite four.

First is a trip to 11 Alive to highlight the updates to Sanford Stadium.

The Dawgs are revamping some stuff at Sanford Stadium after the 2022 season, and we are excited about it. These renovations seem to be upgrading other parts of the stadium to provide an even better viewing experience for Dawg fans. Smart knows if the Dawgs want to keep contending, having the best facilities and stadium are two significant parts of that formula.

Georgia won’t see this project end until after the 2023 football season, but once done, Sanford Stadium will be one of the best in the country.

Connor Riley from Dawg Nation makes our list again, but this time for his practice observations from Tuesday’s first padded practice. He provided great insight into what happened during the media period, and it’s always fun to see what the reporters observe in that time frame.

The Dawgs are kind of stingy about the media time, but these observations got us fired up for Georgia football and even more excited about Sept. 3 for the Oregon game. Smart runs a physical practice, so putting the pads on for the first time — it’s one of the best days of fall camp. There is nothing like hearing those pads smack each other and knowing this squad is another day closer to the season.

REPORT: Over Half the NFL Will Be in Attendance for Georgia’s First Padded Practice By Brooks Austin of Dawgs Daily

Brooks Austin of Dawgs Daily wrote an article about the NFL teams in town to scout the Georgia football team. After the Dawgs saw 15 players drafted earlier this year, this amount comes as no surprise. These scouts want to see the Red and Black machine itself and look at the next crop of Dawgs that could be available to draft next year.

Georgia could have another impressive draft class, so it’s great to see these scouts already in Athens before the season starts. If this number of scouts doesn’t prove that Georgia still has a lot of talent on its roster after losing those big-time playmakers, I’m not sure what will help people understand this.

Collective effort expected from defensive line By Anthony Dasher of UGASports.

Our last topic of today comes from Anthony Dasher from UGASports. Dasher is a legend among the Bulldog publications, and this piece is one of my favorites that he has written this year. Georgia strives to play together, which is one reason the Dawgs won it all last year.

Jalen Carter is a hot commodity, but the players around him must be there for him too. So when he reports that the defensive line will be a collective effort, it shows that there is a ton of talent, and they know how playing together can make them better. Dasher includes quotes from Schumann and Muschamp, which provide a perfect insight into this collective effort that Georgia will bring to the field in 2022.

Georgia football has 24 days until the 2022 season begins, so while it still seems like a long time the Chick-fil-A KickOff Game will be here before we all know it.
