Good morning UGA football fans, and welcome to the August 11 installment of Donuts with the Dawgs, the morning roundup that features some of the best headlines outside Dawn of the Dawg and from our site as well.

Grab your cup of coffee and a donut for this morning’s headlines about the Dawgs. This morning we’re including a few links to our favorite stories the staff has done this month.

Wednesday was a pretty soft news day for the Dawgs, but that doesn’t mean there wasn’t anything to talk about because there was plenty.

Today’s headlines feature a story on two breakout players for 2022, a new job for Aaron Murray and why Dawg fans should enjoy the greatness of 2021 for just a little longer.

Donuts with the Dawgs features the most recent UGA football headlines that we love.

Georgia has seen an intense start to fall camp, but it’s great to see so many national publications recognize the talent still in Athens.

Today, Donuts with the Dawgs will highlight our three favorite headlines from various publications covering Georgia. Then we will provide three stories from Dawn of the Dawg that we highly recommend.

The first story is from UGA Wire to highlight Murray’s new position.

ESPN VP on SEC Network’s hiring of Aaron Murray By Joe Vitale of UGA Wire

Murray is one of the fan-favorite quarterbacks to play during Mark Richt’s tenure. He was one of the best signal callers to play in Athens, and now he is an analyst for ESPN. Murray will make a great addition to the SEC Network as he is one of the most knowledgeable former players.

It’s great to see a Georgia quarterback on the SEC Network after Florida, Vanderbilt, and Alabama guys have been the ones holding down the fort for the last few years. Murray isn’t the first or the last Georgia alumni on the network, but it is great to see him join the team.

Georgia football podcast: UGA shouldn’t lose sight of what made it great in 2021 By Brandon Adams of Dawg Nation

Another great piece from Dawg Nation for today’s lineup is from Brandon Adams, their excellent podcast host of DawgNation Daily. On Wednesday, he discussed why Georgia fans shouldn’t lose sight of the greatness that happened in 2021.

This year is the first time in 41 years that Georgia fans can enjoy being reigning national champions, so they should milk that title for all its worth. Adams specifically mentions one of the things that made last year’s defense historical and how he hopes it gets incorporated more in 2022.

Dawg Nation’s podcast always fires up the masses, and Wednesday’s edition is no different. Adams nails it again with his analysis, and the best part about it is his ability to be a “homer” and logical at the same time. Check out the whole podcast!

Georgia football has two of ESPN’s top 50 newcomers in CFB By Kipp Adams from 247Sports

247Sports reporter Kipp Adams brings us the final out-of-pocket headline as he discusses the two players that ESPN named top 50 newcomers. Malaki Starks and Mykel Williams were the two names from Georgia on the list, and finally, ESPN sees what we do.

These two guys are studs and are going to be contributors in 2022. It wouldn’t be surprising to see either get significant reps at their positions. Williams is someone high on everyone’s radar, and he should be. He is a freak of nature. Starks is a high football IQ guy who is already catching his teammates’ attention.

Georgia has a lot of young talent on this 2022 squad, which isn’t going unnoticed.

Now for the Dawn of the Dawg headlines to read:

Georgia football has 23 days until the 2022 season begins, and the Dawgs are taking it day by day in fall camp.

Georgia football is hungry for this upcoming rebuilding season. light. More

The headlines get juicier as the days tick down — we don’t mind because it creates more discussion. The Dawgs will have a great 2022 season. At least we hope they do.
