George Pickens proves he is a complete dawg in all the right ways
George Pickens is that man. The former Georgia football wide receiver has taken the NFL world by storm, and he hasn’t even played a game for the Pittsburgh Steelers yet.
Pickens’ incredible catches from practice shows just how much talent he has. Some didn’t know how it would go with his injury, but Pickens has already proven he is a Dawg that knows this game.
Pittsburgh has a legitimate football player in Pickens, and when he is motivated — good luck to whoever has to cover him.
Georgia fans knew that Pickens had this grit and talent because we all saw it throughout his career, but now the Steelers fans are getting introduced.
George Pickens quickly takes a starting receiver role and proves he isn’t someone to test.
I’ve had some fans ask me if there will be off-the-field issues with Pickens, and I just chuckle at them because he is a good kid. Have there been a few instances like the Georgia Tech fight and some of the stuff before college? Yes, but now that he doesn’t have to focus on anything but being the best receiver possible — Pickens will not screw up this opportunity.
Just seeing some of these catches that Pickens has made in practice with the Steelers makes you go, wow. He is taking over Steelers Twitter, and we love to see it. Excuse the language on this first video, but watch him just dominate that defender.
Even the talented Joey Mulinaro has gotten in on the George Pickens love, and he is a massive media guy, so it’s great to see someone like him give Pickens love.
One of the Steelers reporters asked him if the catch below was one of the best catches in his career, and Pickens did a great job with his answer.
Pickens outworks everyone in these videos, and if he doesn’t make a perfect catch. He does everything in his power to make the play. In this video, he does just that and makes a catch that should have been a drop.
Pickens has made noise, and the Steelers have to be pleased with snagging him in the draft’s second round. He could end up being one of the biggest steals of the 2022 NFL Draft because seeing Pickens dominate this well already shows what kind of talent too many teams passed on that needed him.
This guy will help the Steelers’ offense out tremendously. As long as Pickens stays healthy — he will be unstoppable.
It’s wild to see a Georgia football receiver get this much praise before the season even starts, but at the same time, it answers the poorly crafted narrative that the Dawgs cannot put receivers into the league.
Keep doing your thing, Pickens, and we love writing about it and seeing you thrive in Pittsburgh.
