Georgia football is the best team in the country
Georgia football beat Samford 33-0 and produced the best victory of the week among the rest of the top 10. After watching the Dawgs’ game, it’s clear who the No.1 team in the country is, and it isn’t the Alabama Crimson Tide.
Week 2 was one of those where nothing went right for ranked teams. Three of the top ten teams got upset on Saturday, proving why college football is supreme.
Even Alabama struggled against an unranked Texas team to start off the Saturday games. In short, college football was drunk and didn’t know what it was doing in Week 2, but one team held strong and did not waiver.
The Dawgs were the only team that pitched a shutout against their opponent, and while Samford isn’t that great, it’s still a 33-point win.
Georgia football should be No.1 in the country for Week 3 of the season.
Sure Ohio State and Michigan scored more points than Georgia, but it was a similar competition.
Hawai’i is not good at all, and the Wolverines gave up 10 points to them. Arkansas State scored 12 on the Buckeyes. Both were dominating wins for the Big 10 teams, but neither could keep their opponents from scoring.
Ohio State avoided touchdowns, but Arkansas State still kicked four field goals. It was a good win but not better than Georgia’s.

The Dawgs are the best team in the country right now, and while their game was quite vanilla, they scored when they wanted to, and that defense was dominating. Before anyone says they stalled on offense in the second half – Georgia didn’t need to score more because the beatdown was complete.
One of the biggest things for Georgia this season is pushing down the throttle and keeping it down until the end of the game, but the Dawgs didn’t need to hang 50-plus points on Saturday.
The Samford game was in the bag at halftime, and there was no point because those Bulldogs couldn’t move the ball on Georgia if they wanted.
Georgia should be No.1 in the country with another decisive victory on the AP Top 25 Poll. The Dawgs should have been last week after the Oregon game, but after the chaos of Week 2, it’s evident who the best football team is.
With that No.1 ranking comes even more privilege and possibly complacency, so Georgia will need to put its head down further to eliminate the noise. Let the media and fans talk, but this team needs to keep working because there is room for improvement.
