2. Georgia football has the most efficient offense in the SEC

Georgia currently has the No. 5 overall and the No.1 SEC team efficiency ranking. ESPN has its own way of calculating team efficiency based on the point contributions of each unit to the scoring margin. Values get adjusted for the team’s strength of schedule, and when there is garbage time, that gets added into the equation as well.

It’s based on a scale from 0-100 — the higher the number, the better.

Georgia has a 91 offense team efficiency ranking right now,  which is incredible to see. The Dawgs have the most efficient offense in the conference — better than Alabama, Tennessee, Ole Miss and even Mississippi State.

This stat should tell you that while it felt like Georgia left a lot on the field against Samford, this group is still highly efficient. The Dawgs got things done, and it’s important to note that. With a veteran quarterback and some of the best receivers in the conference, it’s already showing how good this group will be moving forward.

Georgia also has the No.2 team passing efficiency at 173.3, which is also No. 20 nationally. The Dawgs are usually a run-heavy team, but it’s clear what the emphasis wilin 2022, and the rush attack will just have to hang on and roll with it.
