Georgia football: 4 powerful stats that will improve lackluster feeling
3. Stetson Bennett is that guy
Through two games, starting quarterback Stetson Bennett’s season stats are incredible.
The Mailman has gone 49-of-65 for 668 yards, three touchdowns, and has a 75.38% completion rate. Bennett also has a 176.95 quarterback rating, which is ranks No. 2 in the SEC and No.16 nationally.
He averages 10.3 yards per attempt, which leads the conference. Bennett has thrown for 300-plus yards in his last four games, and so far this season, it’s evident how much he has grown.
His passing yards per game average is No.2 in the SEC and No. 11 nationally at 334 yards per game. His 75% completion rate is No.11 nationally and No. 2 in the SEC.
Bennett is having the best start to a season in his career, and with him owning this starting role out of the gate for the first time, he is handling it so well.
He hasn’t even played as much football as some of these quarterbacks have, and Bennett still has better numbers than a lot of those who continue to get praise over him. Right now, he has better numbers than Will Levis, Hendon Hooker, Bryce Young and most of the SEC. The only quarterback with better numbers right now is Will Rogers for Mississippi State.
His stats make this list because it should show you that with him leaving in the third quarter two weeks in a row, Bennett is one of the best, so imagine the numbers when he has to stay in the whole game.
