It’s simple Georgia football kickoff times don’t matter at all

Georgia football could kick off at 8 a.m., and the fans would still be there, yet those same groups of fans complain about these kickoff announcements. Who cares if the Dawgs play at noon or night — it’s the best team in the country playing.

The Dawgs announced Monday that the Missouri game would kick off at 7:30 p.m. on the SEC Network. That game will be in Columbia, Mo., and people immediately started to get upset about that.

Some people were excited to see the night kickoff for Georgia, while others were mad because the Dawgs didn’t get a night game at home. The season is still young — there will likely be a night game in Sanford Stadium.

Georgia football doesn’t care when it plays, nor should the fans.

I feel like I’ve written this article because this kickoff time issue was a thing in 2021, but right now, it’s far more important to win games than when the games happen.

As long as Georgia keeps winning games, does it really matter when they play? Who cares what kickoff times Alabama, Tennessee, Florida, Ohio State, Texas, etc., get? Georgia is playing better than all of them right now, which is what matters.

Just buy the tickets, show up early and cheer on the Dawgs — you can tailgate after when the Dawgs are still undefeated. That Missouri game at 7:30 p.m. is a great time slot. Who cares that Georgia plays Kent State at noon? The noon kickoff for South Carolina was silly because of the heat, but there were better games that needed to be in the better TV time slots.

We don’t care when they play as long as Georgia stays undefeated. Fan experience matters, but make the best of the situation and roll with it. Georgia puts on a show at noon, 3:30 p.m. and 7 p.m., so get creative with your tailgating ideas and have fun with it.

Georgia football fans will get their night game in Athens this year, but they also need to remember the schedule isn’t favorable for primetime night games. Tennessee could be the best bet for a night game, just to warn fans. Sometimes those things are not in anyone but the television company’s control, so it’s silly to fret about it. Enjoy the ride, and go watch the Dawgs.
