Georgia Football is coming off of back-to-back games in which the majority of the team appeared out of sync or unprepared. Missouri gave the Dawgs all they could handle and made the team fight to the end to pull out the win.
While it took the rest of the team a few quarters to start clicking, kicker Jack Podlesny was automatic from the jump and kept the Dawgs in the game. Georgia scored a season-low 26 points, and 14 of them were accounted for by Podlesny.
The weekly MVP poll was extremely close, but Hot Pod ended up squeaking out the victory.

Georgia Football kicker Jack Podlesny earns second weekly MVP in Week 5
Georgia spent much of the game struggling to score points against Mizzou. The offense was not able to reach the end zone until the fourth quarter, but Podlesny made all four of his field goal attempts to prevent the deficit from growing too large.
Podlesny has been a vital component of Georgia’s success in 2022. His leg has been responsible for scoring 58 of the team’s 195 total points through the first five weeks, and his 11.6 points scored per game leads the nation. He has made 12 of his 13 field goal attempts on the year and is a perfect 22-for-22 on PATs.
His performance against Mizzou earned him recognition as the SEC Special Teams Player of the Week for the second consecutive week. He was also named to the Lou Groza Award’s Stars of the Week for the second time this season.

This is Podlesny’s second weekly MVP of the year, joining Brock Bowers as the only players to win it multiple times. As automatic as he has been throughout the entirety of his career at Georgia, it won’t be surprising to see him win more as the season progresses.
