Georgia football is still No.1 on the AP Top 25 Poll, and while one of its first-place votes went elsewhere, the Dawgs still prove to be the best team in the country. This week of football proved to be one full of drama and upsets.

The Dawgs did their job, but they struggled at times along with the rest of the Top 10. However, the top-4 teams found ways to win. Georgia’s victory over Kentucky wasn’t flashy, but it didn’t have to be. When you’re undefeated, style points aren’t a thing, and they don’t matter as much as they do to those teams who are fighting for a spot.

Ohio State and Michigan both struggled with their opponents. Maryland hung tough with the Buckeyes until the last minutes of the game, and Illinois did the same against the Wolverines. There was some controversy in that game, but in the end, Michigan pulled it out and remains undefeated.

TCU had to pull off a last-second win over Baylor, but the key here is finding a way to win because it’s hard to deny undefeated teams in the College Football Playoff.

Georgia football holds firmly at No.1 on the AP Top 25 Poll.

Of the 63 first-place votes, Georgia got 62, with Ohio State receiving one. That result mimicked last week, and while everyone can have an opinion, it’s hard to say that Georgia isn’t the outright No.1 team in the country. With that defense and offense that can score points when it wants to, no other team has that.

Ohio State has a strong offense, but its defense isn’t the greatest. Neither is TCU or Michigan’s defense — these three teams that round of the top 4 don’t have what Georgia does.

Tennessee fell hard on its face Saturday night as the Gamecocks beat them 63-38. The Vols went from No. 5 to No. 9 in the AP Poll. Utah fell to Oregon and dropped to No.14 in the poll.

USC outlasted UCLA 48-45 to jump up two spots to No.5, LSU stayed at No.6, and Clemson demoralized Miami 40-10 to move up two places to No.7. The Tigers jumped Alabama at No.8, and Oregon rounds out the top 10.

The total AP Top 25 Poll:

  1. Georgia (11-0)
  2. Ohio State (11-0)
  3. Michigan (11-0)
  4. TCU (11-0)
  5. USC (10-1)
  6. LSU (9-2)
  7. Clemson (10-1)
  8. Alabama (9-2)
  9. Tennessee (9-2)
  10. Oregon (9-2)
  11. Penn State (9-2)
  12. Washington (9-2)
  13. Notre Dame (8-3)
  14. Utah (8-3)
  15. Kansas State (8-3)
  16. FSU (8-3)
  17. UCLA (8-3)
  18. UNC (9-2)
  19. Tulane (9-2)
  20. Ole Miss (8-3)
  21. Cincinnati (9-2)
  22. Oregon State (8-3)
  23. Coastal Carolina University (9-1)
  24. Texas (7-4)
  25. UCF (8-3)

Things are getting tight in the Top 10 right now, as there is just one week in the regular season left before conference championship games and the postseason. Next week’s wins will be crucial for Clemson, USC, TCU, Michigan, and Ohio State. Honestly, rivalry week is one of the most important ones of the season because so much chaos can happen.

Georgia football needs to stay focused for Georgia Tech as the Yellow Jackets took down North Carolina 21-17. The Yellow Jackets will come into Athens overly confident and looking to take down No.1 Georgia, but the Dawgs will be ready for them.
