Thanksgiving may have been yesterday, but it’s still important to know there is a lot that Georgia football fans have to be thankful for this year. While we all are grateful for the Dawgs and what they’re doing, to see this program have one loss in almost two seasons is very impressive. The fans should all recognize that this is a special time for this program.

What is going on in Athens does not come along often, and before anyone says, “Alabama,” they are an anomaly. Georgia has sustained a version of success since the turn of the century, but this is on another level.

What head coach Kirby Smart has been able to do in this short period is incredible. There is no other way to put it other than great, and that is why Georgia fans should be grateful.

Georgia football fans should be extra grateful this year.

Now I’m not saying Georgia fans aren’t grateful for what the Dawgs are doing, but since it’s the giving season, why not throw in an extra thank you for the success of this program?

The Dawgs are working on history now and could do something that the 2021 squad couldn’t —win an SEC Championship. Georgia is doing the work, recruiting well, and showing that it can sustain success. It’s crazy how the Dawgs can lose 15 guys to the NFL Draft and seem like they haven’t skipped a beat. That ability is part of Smart’s culture, another thing Georgia fans should all appreciate because that isn’t found across the country.

What Smart is doing shows that the Dawgs have one of the best programs in the country. While the grateful holiday has passed, it doesn’t mean we can’t continue to be thankful for this. Other teams would do unspeakable things to have this much success, and we feel like it’s just the beginning for Georgia.
