Georgia football will likely dip into the transfer portal for some guys this offseason as the Dawgs look for more experience in positions like the receiver room. The Dawgs are looking at a couple of additions for that room, which brings us to Dominic Lovett, who is transferring out of Missouri. He is one of Georgia’s top targets to land out of the transfer portal along with Mississippi State’s RaRa Thomas.

If the Dawgs can add one or both of these guys, that receiver room would get that much better. There is already a lot of talent in there, but Georgia could lose a handful of guys, so why not fill those gaps with a bit of experience for the 2023 season and use the 2024 recruiting class to land even more elite wideouts?

The Dawgs already have some impressive receivers in its 2023 class, but these two guys would put some recognition on that room if they choose to come to Athens. Nothing is set in stone yet, but both seem to be in a good place with Georgia.

Georgia football has Dominic Lovett high on its target list.

Lovett was a four-star receiver out of high school and will be a sophomore with plenty of eligibility to use. As a freshman, he played in all 12 games for Missouri. He led the Tigers with 56 catches for 846 yards and three touchdowns. Lovett averaged 15.1 yards a catch and around 70.5 yards a game.

Against Georgia, he had six catches for 84 yards, including a 36-yarder. The Dawgs are smart for looking at this playmaker because he can play in the SEC and succeed.

Georgia needs these 5-10 guys that can play the long ball and short attack because offensive coordinator Todd Monken likes throwing it all over the field.

Lovett has also done some return stuff, which will help if he picks Georgia. He has good speed, smart route-running abilities and is gritty. Georgia could use another receiver like this to complement Ladd McConkey and the others.

He recently visited Georgia, where it seemed to have gone well. Hopefully, Lovett will be one of a few portal guys that the Dawgs land to keep this team reloaded and ready for more success.

Georgia has under a week until Early Signing Day for its 2023 recruiting class, and with so much buzzing around them, some of these transfer guys could make decisions too.
