The Georgia Bulldogs are balancing a lot right now as we are merely days away from Early Signing Day and two weeks away from the semifinals. Georgia continues to push for players down the stretch and keep its options open.

Our top news stories today feature a little of everything from a key 2023 recruit, a certain Dawg receiving first-round buzz, and players defending Jalen Carter. No one will come after one player without there being some recourse. Some may think this whole situation is a distraction, but that is what sets elite teams apart from others — the ability to focus and handle outside noise.

This time of year can drag on because there isn’t a game every weekend, and it seems like the semifinals will never get here. However, that semifinal game will be here before we know it, and so will the many other postseason things we all enjoy discussing.

Let’s discuss these three topics in a little more detail as we patiently wait for the Dawgs to take the field for the semifinals against Ohio State.

The Georgia Bulldogs see Darnell Washington emerge as a potential first-rounder

The 2023 NFL Draft may be months away, but the buzz surrounding draft eligible kids is already circling the interwebs. ESPN’s Todd McShay included three Dawgs in his first-round mock draft, and the most surprising was seeing Darnell Washington. Now, surprising in a good way because Georgia fans know he is a stud, but who knew McShay would actually give a Georgia player some credit.

This season has been huge for Washington as he emerged to be a force when the ball is in his hands. He was a game changer. There is really no other way to put it because he would leap over people, block opponents so his teammates could score and his catching abilities improved tremendously. Washington has 26 catches for 417 yards and two scores, but don’t let that fool you — he is a force of nature.

It’s good to see him get some first round love because at his size, he is a mismatch and could help any NFL team out on their offense. Washington is only getting better and his best football hasn’t happened yet.

The Georgia Bulldogs take up for Jalen Carter after wild comments.

After the comments McShay said about Jalen Carter, the entire Dawg Nation erupted in anger. However, leave it up to his teammates to really let the world know who Carter is. There were multiple guys who came to bat for the defensive star and proved McShay wrong.

So many people are worried that this is a distraction for Georgia, but it’s not. These guys took up for their teammate and now the work begins. It’s time to get another national championship and continue to prove guys like McShay sometimes say things they will eventually have to redact because it’s so blatantly false.

Carter is a top-notch guy that does so much for his community, so those character issues must be for another Jalen Carter and not the one who wears the G.

The Georgia Bulldogs will not see this legacy recruit ahead of Early Signing Day.

Early Signing Day is just a couple of days away, and one of the Dawgs biggest targets Justice Haynes has canceled his in-home visits with Georgia and Ohio State. The running back is currently committed to Alabama, and with these cancellations it seems he will stick with the Tide.

It’s a tough loss for Georgia becuase he is a legacy recruit, but everyone has their own story to tell, and maybe Haynes wants to have his in Tuscaloosa. The Dawgs will rebound becuase they already have an elite running back in the class in Roderick Robinson. He is a beast and even if Georgia signs one running back, Robinson one of the best in the entire class.
