Georgia football: Daniel Harris is the first “new” 2023 commitment
Georgia football has already received multiple letters of intent from its 2023 class members, but Daniel Harris became the first to select the Dawgs on Early Signing Day. The fax machine is red hot this morning for the Dawgs, and sealing the deal with Harris was a great way to start the day.
Harris is no stranger to the Dawgs as he was a part of this class before decommitting and reopening his recruitment. However, the Dawgs didn’t stop pursuing him, and in the end, it’s like he knew Athens and Georgia were the right spots for him.
This pickup is a big momentum booster for Early Signing Day, even though the Dawgs’ day will mainly consist of collecting letters of intent. That ability to collect is enormous, though, but adding a couple of guys to the class makes it an even better day. The first one of those players for the Dawgs is Harris, and it’s good to see him back in this class.
Georgia football reintroduces Daniel Harris into the 2023 recruiting class.
Harris is a 4-star cornerback on 247Sports from Gulliver Prep in Miami. According to 247Sports’ composite rankings, he is the No.153 overall player, the no. 17 corner and the No. 36 player out of Florida.
For Georgia to land this guy out of Miami is huge because that is a tough area to get kids to go out of state. Harris knew that Georgia was home though, and picked the Dawgs over Michigan, Miami, Ohio State, Penn State and others. Penn State was the other leader here, but the BIG10 school couldn’t pull him away from Georgia.
He isn’t one of the large group of early enrollees, but he has sent in his letter of intent and is officially a member of this 2023 recruiting class. Harris backed off his commitment in November, but it’s clear the Dawgs never stopped pursuing him.
