Georgia is off to a fast start in the College Football Playoff National Championship Game, in big part thanks to the combination of Stetson Bennett to Ladd McConkey.
Georgia wide receiver Ladd McConkey has been battling injuries and was questionable heading into this week’s National Championship Game preparation. Well, Stetson Bennett’s favorite receiver seems healthy enough so far.
McConkey has four receptions for 74 yards, and one long touchdown thanks to an absent TCU defense.
You have to wonder if it got lonely out there for Ladd.
It hasn’t been all McConkey either. Tight end Brock Bowers is leading the charge of receivers so far, with five catches for 102 yards. Georgia’s run game is also giving TCU fits, totaling 141 yards in the first half.
At that half, Georgia leads TCU 38-7 having scored on all six possessions in the first half. The Dawgs’ team speed has taken the Horned Frogs by surprise.
There’s still a long way to go in this game, as TCU has made a living coming back this season, but this may be too big a climb for them to overcome.
