This weekend was filled with highs and lows for the Georgia Bulldogs. Here’s your review of the news in both directions.

We now know a little more about the tragic crash that claimed the lives of Georgia football players Devin Willock and staffer Chandler LeCroy, including some of the other passengers in the vehicle. Here’s an update from Dawg Nation.

The buzz around the transfer portal continues, and the Bulldogs can now count two more players among the group leaving Athens via the portal. Linebacker Trezmen Marshall and offensive lineman Jacob Hood have both declared that they wish to transfer. You can check out all the players who are coming and going on this 2023 roster tracker.

The No. 1 ranked 2024 recruiting class got a boost over the weekend with the commitment from 4-Star safety Jaylen Heyward, whose announcement came just days after the Bulldogs landed 5-Star defensive back Peyton Woodyard.

Speaking of recruiting, the Georgia basketball team didn’t quite have the same luck as the football team this weekend. 5-Star guard Ace Bailey out of McEachern High School in Powder Springs threw his commitment to Rutgers. The Hoops Dawgs were hoping the lure the local star to Athens.

The news isn’t all bad for the basketball team, however. The Bulldogs snapped a winless road streak with a 62-58 win over Ole Miss in Oxford. The Bulldogs now boast a 13-4 overall record, going 3-1 so far in conference play. The Dawgs will now travel to Lexington to take on rival Kentucky.

The Georgia women’s tennis team concluded the Duel in the Desert over the weekend with smashing results. The Dawgs won 24 total matches – 17 singles and seven doubles – over the course of the three-day event, including six wins on the final day against Texas Tech.

Keeno Arrington, the son of Penn State Nittany Lions legend LaVar Arrington, made his commitment to play at Delaware over the weekend.

A 2022 recruit has declared for the transfer portal, although he never attended the school or played for the program. Twitter is fun! Check out this interesting back-and-forth between recruit and recruiter.
