The 2023 Georgia football roster may end up shrinking by one name, as transfer wide receiver Rodarius “RaRa” Thomas was arrested and charged with multiple crimes.

Per a report from ESPN RaRa Thomas was arrested early Monday morning and was charged with felony false imprisonment and misdemeanor battery-family violence, and was being held at the Athens-Clarke County Jail.

Thomas recently committed to Georgia as a transfer from Mississippi State and was looked at as a welcome addition to a team who has seen its wide receiver group somewhat reduced due to transfers and graduations.

The former Western Division Bulldog caught 44 passes for 626 yards and seven touchdowns at Mississippi State and was one of three transfer portal additions for the Dawgs, including wide receiver Dominic Lovett from Missouri and Texas A&M defensive back Smoke Bouie.

Currently, no bond has been set for Thomas who was arrested at 4:04 AM by UGA Police.

His disposition with the team is now in question, as it’s likely Thomas could be dismissed from the program, or at least suspended until an investigation is completed.

Georgia’s wide receiver group was bolstered with the recent announcement from Ladd McConkey and his intention to stay, and by the aforementioned transfer from Missouri. The Bulldogs still have a very deep receiver and tight end group, including 2023 Heisman hopeful, Brock Bowers.

We will update this story as news is provided.
