Georgia football: Pre-Combine 2023 NFL Mock Draft
Georgia football 2023 NFL Draft, Round One pick No.14: Christopher Smith, Safety
Christopher Smith had a fantastic Senior Bowl, endorsing the fact that he is one of the best prospects in this year’s NFL Draft.
The impressive outing in Mobile now has him on every team’s radar heading into the combine and another impressive showing in Indianapolis will surely move him up the draft boards. New England with pick #14 would be a good landing spot for Smith.
Georgia football 2023 NFL Draft, Round One pick No.15: Nolan Smith, Edge
While we didn’t see Nolan Smith in last season’s National Championship run due to injury, his presence was felt everywhere around Athens.
Smith became Georgia’s most vocal cheerleader and coach. Should we just skip the rest of his football career and move him to a coaching position?
Well, that would deny the pro football world of Nolan Smith who possesses all of the attributes to have a very successful NFL career. Green Bay with pick No.15 is where I would lay my money.
Georgia football 2023 NFL Draft, Round One, No. 16: Kelee Ringo, Cornerback
Last season, Kelee Ringo’s draft stock soared and so I have no doubt that he will be a first-round pick. Corners don’t tend to be selected early and with high demand from teams desperate for a new quarterback, Ringo could provide exceptional value for a team looking to trade down out of a higher spot.
Ringo has been training with ex-Seattle Seahawk and San Francisco 49ers legend Richard Sherman, and in doing so, is gaining experience from someone who has played at the very top of the game. My best guess at this stage is that Ringo ends up in Washington under Ron Rivera.
Georgia football 2023 NFL Draft, Round One, No. 28: Darnell Washington, Tight End
One year ago I doubt many, if indeed any, would have had tight end Darnell Washington as a first-round pick but the truth is “Big 0” has proven himself to be an invaluable asset in the Georgia pro-style offense and with a physical presence that matches up with anyone in college football.
NFL scouts really started to envisage just how good Washington could be in the pro leagues. Cincinnati at pick No. 28 would be another fantastic weapon for Joe Burrow.
