Former Georgia football QB Jake Fromm, other athletes receive degrees
It’s graduation season for many colleges and high schools across the country. Among those receiving a degree from the University of Georgia include a former Georgia football quarterback.
Jake Fromm posted on his Instagram account that he will officially be a UGA alum, as he received a degree in Finance from Georgia’s Terry College of Business. Fromm said he made the decision last fall to return to school after two and a half years away.
Fromm was Georgia’s starter for three seasons from 2017-2019. He famously took over after Jacob Eason went down with an injury in the first game of the season against Appalachian State. After impressive starts and wins against teams such as Notre Dame, he earned the starting job and helped the Dawgs finish 13-2 overall that season.
He went on to became one of the most decorated QBs in program history, as he helped Georgia win an SEC Championship, Rose Bowl, and Sugar Bowl. He is ranked top five in several categories, such as career passing yards, touchdowns, and single season passing touchdowns.
He was drafted by the Buffalo Bills in the fifth round of the 2020 NFL Draft, but he made his first NFL start as a member of the New York Giants in 2021. As of now, he is with the Washington Commanders.
The school announced yesterday that 99 student-athletes will be graduating today and tomorrow. Notable graduates include Dominick Blaylock, who recently announced his decision to transfer to Georgia Tech, who will be graduating with a degree in Housing Management and Policy.
Another notable graduate is All-American track star Matthew Boling, who is graduating with a degree in Marketing. Boling won a National Championship in 2021 in the 200m race, and he has since become one of the greatest athletes in Georgia history. With his talent, we will probably see the Houston, TX native competing in the Olympics one day.
Congratulations to all the students who will be graduating from UGA and good luck in your future endeavors!
