Georgia football vs Navy football

Overall record: 0-2
First meeting: Oct. 28, 1916
Last meeting: Oct. 19, 1957
Last score: 27-14, Navy

The only one of the three service academies Georgia has played is Navy, and neither game went the Bulldogs’ way.

The Dawgs and Midshipmen first hooked up in 1916 and Navy took down Georgia in Annapolis 27-3, giving the Bulldogs their first loss of the season.

Georgia would finish the season 6-3, with losses to Auburn and Georgia Tech coming along with the loss to Navy.

In 1957, Georgia and No. 15 Navy met in the now-defunct Oyster Bowl in Norfolk, Va. The overmatched Bulldogs lost 27-14 en route to a disappointing 3-7 season. Georgia’s only wins that year came against Tulane, Kentucky, and Georgia Tech.

The expanded playoffs could at some point result in Georgia and Navy meeting again on the gridiron.
