Georgia football vs Stanford football
Overall record: 0-1
First meeting: Dec. 31, 1978
Last meeting: Dec. 31, 1978
Last score: 25-22 Stanford
Stanford is another Pac-12 team that Georgia needs to come up with a victory against.
The Cardinal and Bulldogs have but one meeting, the 1978 Astro-Bluebonnet Bowl, a postseason game that is no longer even played as of 1987.
Georgia came into that postseason game with high hopes, finishing the regular season at 9-1-1, with a loss to South Carolina and a tie against Auburn as the only blemishes on the season.
Georgia was ranked No. 11 in the nation and heavily favored against the Cardinal, but Stanford found a way to win a 25-22 thriller.
This modern-day iteration of these teams would absolutely be an entertaining game to watch. The College Football Playoff may be our best bet to see it.
