Georgia football vs West Virginia football

Overall record: 0-1
First meeting: Jan. 2, 2006
Last meeting: Jan. 2, 2006
Last score: 38-35, West Virginia

Now we get to the most recent loss and yet another postseason defeat for the Bulldogs.

Georgia and West Virginia came out of the 2005 season both having some high hopes thwarted by untimely losses. Georgia dropped two consecutive games mid-season to Florida and Auburn, and WVU lost to rival Virginia Tech.

Coming into the Sugar Bowl Georgia was ranked No. 8 and WVU No. 11, and the game absolutely reflected two strong programs that were evenly matched.

Unfortunately for Georgia fans, the Dawgs came up on the short end of the 38-35 score in what was one of the most exciting Sugar Bowls of the last 20 years.
