Did Kirby Smart recruit KJ Bolden through the media? Georgia Football is trying to land 5-star safety out of Buford, Ga.

Smart was asked about the defensive backfield and added something that could be seen as Smart recruiting Bolden through the media.

"“We proven that you can play as a true freshman and be successful in our defense so it’s not too much to learn like some people say, and try to use it against us in recruiting”"

This is a direct shot against any coaches out there recruiting KJ Bolden. It is safe to say, this was brought up by Bolden as a reason not to come to the university. But it is all hearsay, who knows if Smart was even talking about Bolden. But with the timing it does seem like Smart was directing it toward Bolden.

Bolden is set to make his commitment on August 5th. Bolden it seems is playing it close to his vest. Many of the “experts” in the recruiting field have no real lead on where Bolden might go. Auburn, Ohio St, Florida St., and Georgia all look to be in the mix to get Bolden. Nobody is sure who is the front-runner.

It is interesting to note that Bolden is a high school teammate of the No.1 Quarterback in the nation, Dylan Raiola. Raiola has mentioned before that he is openly recruiting Bolden to Georgia.  Maybe Smart isn’t Georgia’s best recruiter for the class of 2024 if Bolden does decide to commit to the Dawgs.
