It is very unusual for Georgia football to get a walk-off win. It is also harder to have a mic drop in a press conference. But Kirby Smart did just that.

Bravo Kirby! That was a middle finger to the rest of the country. I, for one, appreciate what Smart did there. He didn’t go on a long diatribe like Saban would or try to make headlines like Brian Kelly. Smart gave facts about where players get drafted on Georgia’s defense and walked it off. Not many coaches have that good of timing. Smart does.

But more importantly, in 2023, programs are still trying to negatively recruit against Georgia. All they have in their arsenal are stats?  What a joke! I was once 18 years old, and I would never think about stats. What I would concern myself with is, how many dudes did a program put in the league? I am sure many Georgia players had the same thoughts when getting recruited.

It is getting sad at this point for teams trying to find anything they can to stop the march of dominance that Georgia is on. I don’t know what program is trying to use stats as a deterrent to come to Georgia, but it has to be Florida.

Remember when the whole Flordia program got bent out of shape over what Jordan Hall said? Not only did their fan base cry all over social media, but even Florida players were saying things about Hall. So, to fuel the hatred of the Gators, I am blaming them. I would have made a great juror in the Salem witch trials. Everyone who is not Georgia is guilty, always!

Unlike myself, Smart handled the question with grace and dignity. Smart had to have known what he was doing with that answer and the ensuing walk-off. To list off a few 1st round picks and say the stats don’t matter. Then just walk out? Fantastic move. That not only was a message to everyone on the recruiting trail, but that was a message in recruiting. Also, good job by Brooks Austin to set Smart up for that dunk. Sometimes, you need to appreciate the set-up guy.
