Georgia football: Game trailer for UAB game released
By Max Tolbert
It’s Friday night, and we all know what that means: Georgia football released another game trailer.
This time, the theme for the game is Showtime. Hopefully, that means the Dawgs start strong and finish strong. It is a welcomed surprise that the narration for the trailer is back. This time it was DJ Shockely doing the narration. So, this is the best trailer of the season. I know that is a hot take.
Georgia football is set to play UAB Blazers on Saturday at 7:30. Georgia is a 42-point favorite. Many fans are worried about Georgia’s slow starts early in games. Smart this week said that the offense is not starting slow; they are scoring slow. Whatever that means. Hopefully, the Dawgs are up 34-0 before halftime.
Speaking of coaches speaking to the media. Trent Dilfer, UAB’s head coach, said that playing in the SEC at night is a better atmosphere than the Super Bowl. “An SEC football game at night is a way better atmosphere than a Super Bowl.” For the UAB players, this is their Super Bowl. Playing in front of 40,000 people and then suddenly playing 93,000 people is a massive deal. I’m sure this moment for UAB players will be something that they will never forget. However, it will be just another game inside Sanford Stadium for Georgia.
There have also been rumors that Georgia will have a Blackout this Saturday. Rumors began swirling Thursday night when the UGA football equipment staff posted two videos that either referenced black jerseys or showed them in the background. Georgia has only worn black uniforms under Kirby Smart 3 times. The past two times they wore the jerseys were in one season, 2020. In Kirby Smart’s first year as head coach, 2016 was the first time the Dawgs wore the black jersey under Smart. We will see if the rumors are true; I doubt it.
